also known as Tamera H. Bennett
Tamera H. Bennett is pleased to announce that, effective January 2025, she is a partner at the Dallas law firm Harper & Bates LLP, where she continues to focus on intellectual property, entertainment law, and music copyright matters.
With over 25 years of legal experience, Tamera helps creative professionals, rights holders, and businesses protect, enforce, and monetize their intellectual property—especially in the areas of trademark prosecution, music licensing, and inherited copyright assets like songs and sound recordings.
She is a recognized voice in the industry, co-hosting the Entertainment Law Update Podcast since 2008 and contributing to publications like Billboard and Texas Lawyer. A long-time leader in the field, Tamera served four terms on the Board of Governors for the Texas Chapter of the Recording Academy (The GRAMMYs) and is a past chair of the State Bar of Texas Entertainment & Sports Law Section.
Tamera has taught music business law as an adjunct professor and frequently speaks at industry and legal conferences. Her community involvement spans more than a decade, including work with DFW Women in IP, local and state bar associations, the Boy Scouts of America, and her church.
Tamera graduated Cum Laude from Middle Tennessee State University (Recording Industry Studies) and Magna Cum Laude from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now Texas A&M School of Law).
Outside the office, Tamera brings the same passion and energy to life’s adventures—whether backpacking 100 miles with a Boy Scout troop, walking glaciers in New Zealand and Iceland, or completing five half-marathons.
