Fred John Meier Jr.

Fred has over 35 years of trial and litigation experience, advocating for clients in issues from aviation products-liability to employment and business disputes. 

Fred has experience handling complex multi-district matters, in diverse subject areas, including major commercial aircraft disasters and class action cases. He also has a considerable amount of experience in aviation law and products liability cases involving light aircraft, helicopters, military aircraft, and large commercial aircraft.

While Fred’s main practice area is focused on insurance defense, he also assists clients with aircraft sales and lease transactions, FAA regulatory matters, and insurance coverage questions. Fred has worked for the major domestic aviation insurance carriers, as well as with London and Paris aviation underwriters.

To complement his experience in aviation law, Fred also has a personal background in aviation, with over 2,500 hours of flight time from over eight years of active duty and nine years reserve duty with the United States Marine Corps. He served as a fighter pilot flying F-4 Phantoms and A-4 Skyhawks. Fred has completed the U.S. Navy Aviation Safety Officer’s Course at the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, California. He is also FAA certified as a single-engine pilot, with commercial and instrument ratings.

Fred is also actively involved in his community through serving as a Board Member for the Frontiers of Flight Museum and is a member of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation. He also has membership in the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, the NTSB Bar Association, and the Dallas Bar Association.

Fred received his B.S. in business administration from the University of California, L.A.. He acquired his Juris Doctorate from University of the Pacific, where he served on the Moot Court Honors Board and was a member of the Traynor Honor Society.
