Knowledgeable, Patient and Thourogh

Jnana is helped our church through its formation. She is timely and very responsive. She helped with filing all the paperwork with the State and now in the process of filing our 501(c)(3). She is a well qualified and knowledgeable lawyer and even better human being!

Easy to work with, Great negotiator

My son purchased a house September 2016, and was told at time of closing that the property taxes "would be completely covered" for that year . Fast forward to this year and DCAD billed him for the entire amount due which was over $2000. Mortgage company and escrow were completely useless! They kept g...iving us the run around. We knew that something wasn't right, and we just needed someone to help us navigate the massive amount of paperwork given at closing and help us determine what was really owed. Plus what had happened to the money we thought my son had paid to cover taxes? Mrs. Settle was amazing in every way. She was able to break down into layman's terms that was really going on, plus create a plan on how to remedy the situation. I am so glad that we chose Mrs. Settle. She explained to us that the money was indeed owed and the money we paid simply went to the principal at time of closing, BUT she was able to negotiate with the mortgage company who agreed to cover all the taxes. My son ended up owing nothing! I really wish we had taken her with us to the closing. It would have been much easier in the long run. If we had not contacted her my son would have had to pay $2000 or have the property taxes in arrears! One of the things that made us feel like Mrs. Settle is extremely competent is the fact we never had to call her or "stay on her" to see what was being done. If she said she would call on a certain day, she did. We always knew what was going on. Keeping your word and doing things when you say you will, as well doing things in a timely manner is very important to us and she is 5 stars on that.
