Daniel Craig Sibley

I am the Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel of Reef Oil and Gas Companies.  As General Counsel, I direct the legal affairs of Reef, including employment of outside counsel in Texas, North Dakota and Lousiana, and - in the past - New York, Canada and Argentina.  As Chief Financial Officer, I am responsible for directing financial and tax strategies. These matters include structuring the financial aspects of acquisitions and the formation of partnerships and limited liability companies to raise capital from investors and acquire and develop oil and natural gas properties. Fortunately, Reef has an excellent controller and Treasurer who are greatly experienced and handle all accounting matters independently of me, and the three of us work directly and closely with the Chief Executive Officer. 

I was a Certified Public Accountant with Grant Thornton from 1977 to 1980.  In 1980, I opened a one-person law firm, soon thereafter formed a partnership with a greately experienced tax lawyer/CPA, and one year later joined a new, 10 lawyer firm in Dallas that quickly grew to over 100 lawyers.  From 1994 to 1996, I once again practiced as a solo lawyer and devoted essentially all of my efforts to a single client, a Saudi-owned company engaged in oil and gas development in Russia, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Oman, Columbia, and Romania.  I joined Reef Oil and Gas Companies in 1997.

I received a B.B.A. in accounting from the University of North Texas in 1973, a law degree (J.D.) from the University of Texas in 1977, and a Master of Laws-Taxation degree (LLM) from Southern Methodist University in 1984.
