Sharon Leigh Merrick

Sharon sounded so helpful at first like she was really going to help me. She told me to stop gathering discovery documents, never requested discovery from the other party, allowed me to miss the discovery response deadline, forwarded one of my emails to her onto the other party's attorney, failed to ...actually give the other party my complete discovery responses and only sent them the objections I prepared myself. After I fired her, I requested a final billing statement at least 12 times and did not receive one until my new attorney requested it. Here I am, two years later, still not divorced and find out that she failed to give me 2 of the 4 total discovery requests served on me. I attempted to file a complaint with the bar, but I will have to reopen it at this point now that I have more information.

Ms Merrick is a wonderful, knowledgeable, attentive attorney. I can reach Ms Merrick at anytime of the day and ask her anything regarding my case and decisions I should make going forward. She has been a great attorney and resource for me from the start of my case. Everyone in her office is helpful a...nd compassionate. This is my second time working with Ms Merrick and I applaud her for her patience in dealing with my unique situation. She is very knowledgeable in FAMILY law and was referred to me by a friend who was also a satisfied client. It is very sad that she has been the target of false bad reviews from opposing council. Please know that this means she is only doing a great job.

Consultation visit was professional and informative. Hired Sharon and told them to proceed with divorce filing and serving of my husband. Specific dates were discussed. No paperwork was ever filed and papers were not served, learned this through my husbands attorney. Contacted the office and did not ...get a response for 5 days. Was then told that the employee that e-filed the paperwork had been out sick resulting in my divorce not being filed with the county. This info was never communicated with me. Fired this attorney immediately. Wasted my time in getting the divorce process going.

I hired Ms. Merrick and she was very upfront and honest about what I would get. She didn't blow sunshine up my skirt and what I loved the most she worked with me on paying her retainer and her attorney fees. I felt like she and her assistant, Rollie cared about me and my family more than getting mo...ney in her back pocket. I have sent a co-worker and a neighbor to her and both gave me great feed-back. I will continue to send people her way. Keep up the great work Ms. Merrick.
