Last year I had a situation where the City was having 16 foot sound walls installed behind my Trophy Club home which backs up to SH 114. The construction team has this "boom" material which is rolled up netted hay to prevent silt erosion. Somehow that boom ended up against my east fence creating a da...mn and preventing the normal run off of rain thru my yard swale. This damn effect caused my 3 east side bedrooms and office to flood. Contacted my homeowners insurance who said "not our responsibility...call city". City said "not our responsibility...call highway dept". Called Hwy dept who said "not our responsibility...call Mario Sinacola Construction". Called const co who said "not our responsibility call our insurance carrier". Called insurance carrier who said "not our responsibility...call homeowner next door who probably moved the silt barrier while building their new fence." It was an endless circle with no end in sight. So I contacted Mr Barbknecht who contacted the construction company and their insurance carrier and proceeded to tell them in no uncertain terms that the maintenance of the erosion barrier was the construction companies sole responsibility. Within 24 hours all parties were reaching out to me to see how they may help and that they would get this situation ironed out in short order and sent reps from all parties to my home asap to inspect. What had been an endless series of rabbit holes for me had been rectified in short order. Suddenly folks were returning calls and leaving very pleasant cooperative messages. Within a week I had a check in hand for the damages. And within two weeks after recieiving the check Home Depot had all damages corrected throughout my home with everything in tip top shape. Was able to move all furniture back into place and get my day to day back in order. The camping within my home was now over. During this situation I was often CC'd on everything and saw much of the letters and notes of dialogue between Mr Barbknecht and the various responsible parties. What at first glance seemed a little bit direct and over the top to me was in the end exactly what the situation called for. With Mr Barbknecht's stellar track record and seemingly endless background of successes I can honestly say his no BS approach is a breath of fresh air in this day and age of overly political correctness. He gets rapid results and he lets who he deals with know at the onset he expects professional behavior and promptness from all parties and he doesn't mince words. Between his background in the military and law enforcement and decades as a lawyer... he knows his law and he used that wealth of knowledge to resolve my situation very promptly.
