Satisfied with Outcome

Overall Dana accomplished the goals I set with her when I hired her. As a lawyer, Dana has proven to me that her 20 plus years of experience in divorce law was the main reason I won in my divorce case. In court during the hearing and eventually the trial Dana prepped me ahead of time and performed v...ery well and resolved the divorce in my favor. The only thing to note is in order to have consistent communication outside of the courtroom, I needed to take the initiative to contact her either by phone, email or meeting in person. The only advice I would give to others is to provide Dana with any and all documents related to the divorce case, so resolving the divorce after the divorce is decreed can go more smoothly.

Poor Performance

When I hired Dana she made it clear that she did not want to nickel and dime me. I told her I was more concerned with the case being handled right over being nickeled and dimed. In saying that, I feel like the representation was cheap and you get what you pay for. After I hired Dana communication was... so difficult I drove to the office just to get some clarification of a couple things. I was also told how easy my case was, that there wouldn't be any issues and this is mostly formalities. The day before my hearing DANA told me to show up early to her office (the hearing was over video conference due to COVID) and we would rehearse the case together in person. I show about an hour early just to find out about 15 minutes before my hearing started that she wasn't going to show up and decided to do the hearing from her home. I was not too happy about this. When my hearing finally started, Dana was unprepared. My child support case involves three different states and she forgot what state my divorce was in which was extremely relevant to what was being argued. Luckily it seemed the judge was so frustrated with both lawyers she didn't make a ruling so more research could be done. This gave me time to hire another lawyer. After the hearing I told Dana I felt like the it went terrible and I was not pleased with it being pushed back. I tried communicating with the paralegal shortly after the hearing for six weeks to get an update, the first email she said she would get back to me with the info but never did. The second email I never got a response at all. I have since then hired a new lawyer. My case is a child support dispute. Not a dispute on the amount, because no amount has been set, but my kids mom saying should should not have to pay anything. I truly think the judge could have made a ruling that day if the proper argument was prepared and presented saving me time and money. I think if you have a simple case and you just need someone to navigate the legal system, Dana might be ok for you. If you have a matter that is going to meet resistance in the court, remember you get what you pay for.

I do pride myself on not wanting to nickel and dime my clients.  There was nothing to do in your case after the last hearing other than wait on the Attorney General and review your orders.  The Court did not recess the hearing because I didn't have your state of divorce memorized.  The Court recessed your hearing to give the lawyers time to get all of the prior orders together.  I'm sorry you were disappointed and wish you the best.
