inexperience and lack of knowledge

I spent almost $6000 to hire him for less than 5 months. Scott is good personally however after many questions and interactions with him, I found out that he did not have the experience as he stated on his profile. He filed a motion and it was denied by the judge due to the document was not notarized.... The judge said in her court room for that motion the document has to be notarized. The judge did not even look at the document. But what bothered me the most was how Scott reacted in the court room. I spoke to many attorneys after the case over and asked around what they think about this reaction. It was very awkward especially when you are representing a case in front of your client. While waiting for the court to start, he showed some nervous behavior. We were sitting inside the court room and he kept moving his legs and tapping his journal. I asked if he is okay. He said I am nervous. I said oh no. I then said everything is going to be okay and it is normal to be nervous. I had to help me to calm down which is very awkward to me since I was the one who supposed to be nervous. I lost my confident on him right then and I knew I was on my own. Before the court started he told me this is going to be a lot of back and forts argument between him and the other attorney but during the court, he didn't try to argue at all. He is not aggressive at all like most attorneys would. I was ready to raise my hands and asked the judge if I could speak on behalf of my self but I didn't. I lost a lot of money to pay for him but it’s not so much about the money I lost. It’s about Scott’s lack of knowledge and lack of confident in the court room. I hired another attorney and paid more than I paid Scott and I could see the different between the experience ones with lots of knowledge he carries with him compares to Scott. Before you decide to hire an attorney, make sure you do your research thoroughly. Experience comes with the price but when you have a legal issue, its worth to pay an experience, confident and aggressive attorney to get you through hard time. At least you would be satisfied to know that your attorney did the best they could to win your case.
