My spouse's company had filed EB1 petition (non concurrent ) and company attorney (and uscis status) kept us in dark for 9 months regarding the petition approval which was actually approved within 3 weeks!! After filing I 485, only my spouse was called for interview in Dec '18! Not for dependents!! ... All this time, I had an approved F4 petition filed by my sister (PD 2004). In Nov' 19, the family petition became current and we were struck with a dilemma. The EB1-India was nowhere near the green light. We had two options, either we continue with the EB1-India or move to the family petition. My spouse and I were under tremendous stress for the next couple of weeks. After considering our choices, we decided to explore the process of moving to the family petition from employment. Through research, I was able to find policy that could make this possible. We then decided we needed a professional's perspective. With a simple google search, we found Nayar & McIntyre, LLP that specialized in family immigration. He was way too professional that we felt a distance between him and us. Unlike Lakshmi, he had tunnel vision and didn't seem to want to look at our situation in any other way. We also checked with my spouse's company attorney for advice, and he also suggested to just wait for EB1 to be current and the transfer process will only confuse USCIS.. However, we knew that the best option, the right option, is continuing with Nayar & McIntyre, LLP. With Attorney Lakshmi's help, we began to prepare documents for transferring I-485 from employment to family. Just before we sent the request, we all got the interview notices. At the interview in Dec 2019, we found that all of our AOS applications were set on the officer's table along with our transfer request letter which Lakshmi had perfectly prepared for us. We felt much more confident and knew that no matter what, she'll support us. She explained our situation and the interview continued as usual. In the end, the officer told us it'll take 4-6 weeks to get the family petition from NVC, and after that could we take action. On the morning of Dec 31st, two weeks after the interview, surprisingly we started to get notifications about the card production. It was a true New Year's gift and it would never have been possible without Nayar & McIntyre, LLP. I'm beyond grateful I found her. She cares for her clients. Lakshmi took time out of her day to study our case, when she could have sent us away like other well experienced and renowned attorneys.
