Matthew Towson

Retaining Matt Towson as my divorce attorney was a significant mistake. His primary focus is billing, not client advocacy or case management. From the outset, he demonstrated a lack of professionalism and organization. He does not meet clients in person, instead opting for hurried phone calls that of...ten seem distracted and unprepared. A critical failure occurred when he neglected to confirm whether my ex had been served—a fundamental responsibility that went unchecked for over a month. This negligence only came to light when I followed up. Additionally, he repeatedly scheduled meetings he failed to attend and was unresponsive to emails and case inquiries. Most concerning, he engaged in discussions with opposing counsel that undermined attorney-client privilege, failed to present structured legal arguments, and did not advocate for my interests in settlement negotiations. His billing practices are equally troubling. He invoices for work that was never completed and only provides statements monthly rather than biweekly, obscuring accountability. His office staff is ineffective, and the answering service is unhelpful. Upon termination, he hastily compiled an unorganized Dropbox folder, which contained none of the necessary case documents. It was only after I fired him that he became responsive—reaching out repeatedly to inquire about my next legal representation. Despite billing me for services he did not provide, he refuses to issue a refund, prompting me to pursue legal action. Going through a divorce is emotionally and mentally exhausting; the last thing anyone needs is an attorney who is disengaged, disorganized, and solely focused on billing rather than advocacy. I strongly caution against retaining Matt Towson. His conduct is not only unprofessional but detrimental to clients who rely on competent legal representation during one of the most challenging times of their lives. I can not recommend Matt Towson, I urge you to check references.

Saying Matt is an amazing attorney and cares about his clients is an understatement. I had plenty of consultations before going with Matt. I did not get good vibes from any of the attorneys I met with until Matt. He answered his own phone, early in the morning by the way, and truly listened to my sit...uation, which was an emotional one for me. He actually listened. Other firms explained different attorneys would handle my case as it went on, which I did not like and Matt made it clear he would be the only one handling my case. My child custody case was made difficult from the very start. MATT DID NOT GIVE UP ONCE! He only fought harder for me and my son and what was right. What should have been an easy enough case, draw up some paperwork and get it signed did not turn out that way. Matt explained everything, every step of the way. He never got frustrated or annoyed with me. He worked ridiculously hard on my case. I was never left wondering what was happening or what the next steps would be. In the end, thanks to his determination, I got everything I wanted and needed for me and my son while remaining fair to the other party. He did not sugar-coat anything or give me false expectations at any point. Every time we talked, he made sure to ask about my son and how he was doing. He has values, morals and understands the difficult situations. I could not be happier with the outcome of my case and it is all thanks to Matt and his hard work (and boy did he work hard on this one). A huge thank you to Matt for being not only an amazing attorney but a great person! Thank you Matt, for everything!

In a world where lawyers have a reputation of being leeches, Mr. Towson is absolutely a class apart. He is responsive, reasonable and genuinely prioritizes the client's needs over the mighty dollar. Unlike other lawyers who nickel and dime on every email and call or even text message, he offers his... services with kindness and patience. He always presented the best options available and advised me accordingly but never pushed me to make a decision that I was not comfortable with. People, especially women, seek legal help at some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives. Having someone like Mr. Towson helping them is a true blessing.
