Julie Lynn Bulthuis Krenek

In June of 2013, I provided financial assistance for a close friend who retained Ms. Julie Krenek to represent her in a child visitation case for which the Grandfather of the child denying all visitation rights to the Grandmother (my friend). The Grandmother had helped raise the child in her home for... the first year of its life before the child’s natural mother relocated with the child and the child was subsequently placed with the child Grandfather who was granted temporary guardianship. Initially Ms. Krenek showed interest in the case and actively filed the appropriate papers with the court and represented her client in the first court hearing. After that, communications broke down for weeks. Ms. Krenek could not be contacted nor would return phone calls, emails or respond to visits to her office. After several months had passed, a non-responsive Ms. Krenek and a 2nd court date set for final disposition, the Grandmother had no choice but to retain a new lawyer barely one week before the final hearing. The outcome of that hearing was favorable to the Grandmother. After repeated attempts and even certified mail requesting a partial or full refund of the retainer, Ms. Krenek did eventually respond and gave a partial refund. I would not recommend Ms. Krenek to others seeking a professional, responsible family lawyer. I sincerely hope this review will help other from experiencing the anguish, uncertainty and feeling of abandonment experienced my one of Ms. Krenek’s clients.

I am a former client. As agreed and discussed, in writing, upon hiring Ms. Krenek, she did not register as my attorney of record with the court, and did not communicate well with me. Ms. Krenek provided confidential and priveleged client information to both opposing counsel and the sitting judge wi...thout client permission or consent. State Bar of Texas (Client Attorney Assistant Program) had to intervene to obtain my case file returned, and only part of the total was eventually returned. Ms. Krenek would not respond to requests to refund my retainer. I would not recommend her to anyone.

I would and have recommended Julie. She is knowledgeable, but not afraid to look it up if she doesn't know or is unclear. I had difficult case, she was organized, a great communicator, and spends the time needed to get to know you so you're not just another case. She also works great as part of a ...team. After my case was finalized, Julie showed up at the site of a custody dispute within minutes and helped the police, there are not many attorneys who would respond in minutes to the site. Man, Woman, Mother or Father, Julie is an excellent choice.

Julie is a thorough, hardworking and smart attorney who accomplished everything she promised. I went to her in January, 2013 to handle a enforcement decree from my divorce. She knew exactly what to do, and also gave me the space I needed to accomplish my end of the process. When it came down to the f...inal days of the divorce proceeding, Julie was on point every step of the way. Julie is an excellent communicator and it didn't take very long at all, thanks to her diligence and knowledge of the system.
