Thank you Bill

Bill is truly an excellent lawyer. He helped me with my DWI case by getting me a favorable judgment. I will be forever grateful to him for his services. Bill is very well connected and respected among his peers. He will educate you on how the system works and as long as you listen to him it should al...l work out ok. He is also really good with responding to your calls and messages in a very timely manner. I truly recommend him to anyone who is in need of a lawyer. Thank you again Bill.

Prompt & Professional

Mr. Stovall handled our case very professionally and was diligent in his communications. We were not only pleased with his work but with the outcome of the case. Mr. Stovall did everything in his power to represent the case to the fullest potential and we are grateful for that. I would most definitel...y recommend Mr. Stovall as your attorney, he treats his clients with respect, follows up promptly, is knowledgeable with the law, and very professional. Thanks again to Mr. Stovall!

If you want the BEST possible representation, Billy Stovall is THE MAN you want to defend you.

I was lucky enough to have Mr. Stovall highly recommended to me by many family friends. He has literally kept several people I grew up with out of jail. Mr. Stovall knows the law inside and out. Having found myself with a felony agg assault I was looking at two years in prison. 13 months later, we we...nt to trial. Due to his expertise I walked out of the courtroom a free man with a NOT GUILTY. He is not one of the snake oil salesmen. He is the real deal and will fight to get you the best option possible. With Billy Jack Stovall on your side, you can feel safe, confident and protected while dealing with a scary and horrible situation. Thank you again Bill.

Free at Last

my bail bond company, who knew i was being screwed by the probation system of Dallas Co recommended Bill to me 5 years ago. I was half way through a 10 year deferred adjudicated case. He saved my ass and got me reinstated on probation. Now that the end of my probated sentence has come, they tried it ...again with some stupid BS trying to get me revoked. Thanks to Bill, I am a free man. Hire him, do what he says without question, and you will be fine. He knows the system and what works. He don't play games. He gets results. I hope I never have to use him again, but his number is in both my phone and my spouse's. I cant name the overpriced lawyer that stole 10k from me at the beginning of my ordeal, but if I had only known bill back then, i wouldn't have had to wait so long for my freedom.

"I endorse this lawyer. I have known Billy for too many years to count. I have found him to be a great lawyer in and out of the courtroom. If I had one word to describe him, it would be magnanimous. He represents his clients to the highest degree of professionalism. I have in the past and will in the future refer prospective clients to him."

"First of all prior to becoming a defense attorney Bill was known as one of the toughest prosecutors in Dallas county. Over the last 10 plus years, I have personally witnessed him in trial and plea negotiations and it's clear he now uses that inside knowledge to get amazing results for his clients. In my opinion , because of his reputation among lawyers as one of the best trial lawyers in Texas, DA's will regularly dismiss or reduce the case rather then facing him in the courtroom. If you have a difficult, serious case where being guilty is NOT an option you need to highly consider Bill among your options."

"I endorse this lawyer. I have known Bill for many years from law school and from our working together at the Dallas District Attorney's Office. We have also worked together on numerous cases. While I other attorneys are endorsed as being someone to whom another attorney refers clients, my strongest endorsement for Bill is that my wife and I have his cell number in our phones as the person to immediately call if we ever personally have a criminal problem."

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2007.

Public Reprimand issued in TX, 2007

updated on 10/28/2013

Public reprimand means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. The State gives the lawyer a public reprimand in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior. Details of the infraction are made part of the public record.

Billy’s comment:

“On January 26, 2007, I received a public reprimand. The District 6-A Grievance Committee found that the complainant in the grievance was a former employee of my firm. After the complainant left the firm, I used her notary public stamp. The District 6-A Grievance Committee found that I had violated Rule 8.04(a)(3). I was further ordered to pay $1,015.00 in attorney’s fees. Since being licensed in 1998, I have never had a grievance sustained against me by a client .”

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline
This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2007
Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
