It is pretty normal. The wait depends on how busy the office is where oyu applied. It could take a couple of months.

Is this deportation a fact? When someone gets deported are they told before their sentence that they will get deported?

No all it means is the alien is aware that deportation is a possibility. His removal lawyer may have grounds to fight removal
