Harold Thompson

I had a very difficult divorce with children involved. I had an attorney before Mr Thompson that had allowed several things go undisputed. My ex and his attorney were able to manipulate the system in such a way that they got full custody of my children, without ANY notification to my attorney or mys...elf. I was referred to Mr Thompson through an agency. When I met Mr Thompson, I was a wreck, a mess and did not know where to turn. Mr Thompson looked my case over thoroughly and listened to my concerns. Mr Thompson went above and beyond for me and my girls. Less than 6 months after retaining Mr Thompson, my girls were home in a safe environment. Mr Thompson held my hand every step of the way and keep me informed of what could and could not happen during the process. He answered any and all of my questions, no matter how trivial they were. We are now 4 years after the battle and i still refer Mr Thompson to any and everyone I meet that may need to navigate the legal system.

My husband and I went in after being served papers petitioning for custody and paternity. I specified that very day I was not in any way willing to agree to a last name change for my son. In the response filed with the court he put that I agreed that my son should take on the biological father's last... name. Then, when it came time to sign the Custody agreement and the Paternity decree the papers I reviewed and signed were free of any mention of a name change, so I signed. Several months later after being prompted to review the papers my husband saw that the name change verbiage was in the paperwork that was filed. We immediately took the papers up to Harold to find out what happened and how we were going to fix it. He immediately claimed fraud against the other lawyer. We went through the entire trial, which he was completely unprepared for, had no paperwork or evidence to support the claim stating, "he never keeps copies of the paperwork because no Tulsa county lawyers really do, as they are usually trustworthy." During the trial the opposing lawyer was easily able to produce evidence from the paperwork he saved and that he had in fact sent the exact paper with the exact verbiage over to Harold's office via fax. I had no clue any of that paper work had been in Harold's possession and am now wondering, if the other lawyer had faxed it to Harold, why did the paperwork I signed lack any kind of fax header? It was crisp and freshly printed. Now I am stuck trying to figure out how to fix the mess he created, if I even can at this point.
