Caroline Shaffer is a Texas native, who prior to attending law school had worked as a paralegal in the Dallas area for three (3) years. She graduated from the University of Tulsa College of Law in December of 2016. While attending the University of Tulsa, she was heavily engaged in moot court where she placed in multiple events and competed on the trial team. Shaffer received the prestigious award for The Order of Barristers. Shaffer also held multiple officer positions in various student organization including the Student Bar Association, Federalist Society, and TU Outlaws. During her time in law school, she had interned as a law clerk and gained experience in various areas of litigation including appellate work in both the Oklahoma Supreme Court and the Tenth Circuit. Shaffer also spent a semester working in the Community Advocacy Clinic serving clients of the Tulsa community who otherwise could not afford legal services, which included fighting for permanent protective orders on behalf of victims.
In her short time of being an attorney, Caroline was recognized by the Association of American Trial Lawyers for her excellence in Personal Injury Law with the 2018 award for Top 40 Under 40. Shaffer continues to be involved in her community by serving the Oklahoma Bar Association as a Board of Director for the Young Lawyers’ Division, Hospitality Chair for the Young Lawyers’ Division, and Co-Chair of the Women In Law’s Social Sub-Committee. Shaffer is also a member of the Tulsa County Bar and Hudson Hall Wheaton Chapter of the American Inns of Court. She has also contributed to a publication in the Tulsa Lawyer Magazine. Shaffer is heavily involved in activism across the State of Oklahoma.
Shaffer is licensed in the Northern, Western, and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma, including the bankruptcy courts. She is also licensed in the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Her areas of practice include general litigation, insurance defense, nursing home litigation, receivership actions, personal injury, civil rights, appellate practice, and family law.
