Bradley W. Burgess

Brad Burgess, a prominent figure in the Lawton community, boasts a diverse background in both law and business. Graduating from Cameron University with a B.A. degree and later earning his juris doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1983, Brad has since served as the managing partner of Burgess & Hightower Law Firm and as President of Vortex, Cardinal Real Estate, Inc., and the Lawton Constitution, the state’s third largest newspaper which he co-owned with his brother. Brad's impressive career also includes appointments to various state boards, such as the Oklahoma State Banking Board and the Oklahoma Transportation Commission, where he held positions of influence and leadership. Active in numerous community organizations, Brad has been recognized for his contributions, including receiving the Saint Barbara Award from Fort Sill. A dedicated member of several Bar Associations and alumni groups, Brad is licensed to practice in federal courts and has been honored for his involvement with Cameron University. Alongside his wife, Karen, Brad has established scholarships and endowed lectureships to support education and youth development initiatives in the Lawton area. With a strong commitment to scouting, Brad has played a vital role in mentoring local scouts and promoting outdoor education, carrying on a family tradition of involvement in scouting that spans three generations.
