I deeply regret hiring Cannon & Associates, specifically Hannah Bullock, to represent me in my divorce.
In my experience, I was under-informed, under-prepared, and poorly advised at the most important moments of my case. I lived in Utah while my case was in Oklahoma, yet I was given approximately ...48 hours’ notice that I needed to appear in court in Oklahoma. I rearranged my life, traveled there at great expense, and arrived being led to believe I would be going before a judge.
Instead, I was placed in a negotiation room with opposing counsel.
I was not properly prepared for that process. I was not given a clear explanation of what would happen, what my options were, what I should push back on, or what the consequences could be. In my opinion, I felt that Hannah did not adequately guide or protect me in that room.
As a result, I agreed to a temporary order that surrendered more than half of my income in exchange for custody of my son. I later came to believe, through my own research, that because my son was 16 and wanted to live with me, I may have had a strong chance of receiving custody anyway without agreeing to such a financially devastating arrangement.
The temporary order also failed to include meaningful protection if I lost my job. I later was laid off, and I was advised that there was nothing I could do and that I still owed the money. Opposing counsel later tried to hold me in contempt, and I had to scrape and save for months to avoid further legal consequences.
Meanwhile, Cannon & Associates continued billing me, and the charges kept climbing. I ultimately paid more than $11,000 for representation that I believe left me financially exposed, poorly informed, and inadequately protected.
Family law clients need an attorney who listens, explains the process, prepares them for hearings, protects their interests in negotiations, and makes sure they understand the consequences before signing anything. In my experience, that is not what I received from Hannah Bullock or Cannon & Associates.
To be clear, I was a client of this firm, I paid this firm, and this review is based on my own direct experience with their representation. I am not posting this because of a misunderstanding, a court delay, or because my “expectations weren’t met.” I am posting it because I believe the representation I received was deeply inadequate, financially damaging, and nowhere near the level of guidance a family law client should expect when making life-altering decisions.
This was the worst service I have ever received from any business in any capacity.
I absolutely would not recommend Cannon & Associates based on my experience.
