Significant Communication Gaps and Delays

While our case eventually reached a settlement, the process was defined by administrative delays and communication issues. Our attorney delayed filing the initial complaint for seven months, missing his own self-imposed deadline. Once it was filed, opposing counsel responded in under two weeks, yet o...ur case then sat for another nine months with minimal communication unless I initiated contact. Furthermore, the firm scheduled a critical deposition during a week we had already explicitly informed them twice we were unavailable. During that deposition, our attorney did not intervene or object when opposing counsel used my wife's academic credentials to speak to her in a condescending manner on the record. The firm only established a sense of urgency at the absolute end of the case, pressuring us to make high-stakes, rapid decisions that could have been resolved a year prior had the file been handled responsively. I would not recommend this firm if you expect timely advocacy and consistent communication.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
