I hired this attorney to do a divorce for my daughter. I was told she would not touch the case with out money upfront. But they all say that right? Anyway I stroked a check for $2500.00. She sat on the case and would not answer the phone most of the time. When we did speak she gave me empty informat...ion. We were finally scheduled for court to proceed with the divorce. We were contacted a week or so before the appointed court date and she said we were going to push the date up due to the defense attorney going on vacation. So we had to wait. When the date approached "again" we were ready to proceed, she calls and says she is going on vacation. To end this nightmare..the couple got back together. (But now are completely separated and are going on with the divorce.) I have tried numerous times to contact Mrs. Stephens and she will not answer any of my calls. I will tell you this,I will never pay for any service that is not done and done to my satisfaction ever again. I am (and have been) unemployed when I gave this money to this attorney. I do not have $2500.00 to give away like that !!! I am looking into a private investigator to search for Mrs. Stephens. When I last spoke to her she told me she had been sick and had moved in with one of her daughters .She also said when she got better she would try to refund me some of my money. I just want her to do the damn divorce for goodness sake !!
