I would not recommend. She was extremely expensive and did not fight for me. Worked together with the other attorney. I don’t even think she ever looked over any of the evidence i had on my daughters dad. She did not communicate with me. If i sent her an email, she would respond with one word… and th...en charge me. It’s crazy how attorneys get away with this. I ended up firing her and hiring another attorney. My new attorney told me “you got screwed”. She worked behind the scenes with the other attorney and ad litem. I don’t normally write reviews but i know the feeling of feeling like your world is crashing down on you and needing someone yo fight for you! This lady will not.

Katherine was an amazing help to me as I sought her counsel for my divorce. She explained everything clearly and helped me understand what to expect each step of the way. She is an amazing advocate for her clients and the families she represents. My brother has also used her in a complicated custo...dy battle and she got my nephew and brother the results that were in his best interest. I have recommended her to other friends and family and would not hesitate to use her again and again. She is ethical, compassionate, intelligent and fierce in the representation of her clients.

Katherine Blackmon is a much needed resource in central Arkansas. Her passion for righting injustices, particularly when dealing with children, is a breath of fresh air. When you are the client desperately needing for someone to LISTEN and “absorb” your case, she will be that individual. In our si...tuation, we had a custody case that involved an ex-daughter-in-law who had primary custody. Her shenanigans were so detrimental to my grandchild, it was heartbreaking to watch. We would forward the latest “episode” to Katherine and then wait for her to say “We have enough”. More than once, I was disappointed when she would tell us that we didn’t “have enough” for a custody change. As I look back over the situation, I know that my emotions were overriding my understanding. To us, the mark of a great attorney is that they’ll tell you what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear. At any time, she could have agreed to move forward with a motion on several of the issues we brought to her, collected her fee and been “doing her job”. But, she refused to operate that way. She had listened and KNEW that it was in the best interest of our granddaughter to be removed from that situation permanently. So, rather than taking the quick buck, easy way (we were more than willing to finance what would have been fruitless actions), she helped us to understand that we needed to be patient. She was right. Ultimately, we prevailed better than we could have ever hoped. More than a few phone calls and emails from us just required her calmly guiding us. From the outset, we fully believed that she wanted the best outcome for our case as much as we did. I especially appreciated her not being dismissive of my opinions/insight into a situation. For instance, she trusted my ability to provide her with qualities (i.e. narcissism) that my ex daughter-in-law had, knowing that information could be useful in a courtroom environment. We worked together to achieve the result that was needed. Her many years of experience with other attorneys and judges here are invaluable; she has the respect of her peers and that speaks volumes. Lots of firms in town can and will represent you. Very few (Katherine is in this group) will truly be an advocate for you, up to and including telling you when you’re making an error by forcing an action. We cannot thank her enough for her concern, knowledge, true compassion and professional ability. Katherine Blackmon truly is an asset to Arkansans.

Katherine has two loves: protecting children and money. She took on my case and was paid appropriately. She was very good friends with the opposing counsel, had a nickname for him, “Precious”, and while she fought for the protection of myself and my children (to which I give due credit - she did well...) she also began negotiating with opposing counsel “Precious” for him to come work with her. I received this information from her and her legal secretary. I learned that she offered Precious a generous package with more security. All of this raised red flags with my attorney relatives, (as it’s a serious ethics violation) but I kept on because I deeply loved and respected Katherine and her legal secretary. After everything was settled except for the financial part, Katherine dumped me as her client because “She and Precious (my husbands attorney and opposing counsel) were afraid that <husband> would sue everyone for all of the ethics violations (sharing privileged information about their clients, myself and my husband, and negotiating to work together in Katherine’s firm while they were in litigation with us as their clients.) I was dumbstruck and devastated. I am now left to find another attorney, and my husband shall have to also, as it is unethical for Precious or the co-counsel, (Partner at his firm) to work with my new attorney. The motive for this was money as she stated “I have boxes of bankers cases and Precious is just so good at that.” All of this has truly devastated me, and the attorney who originally referred me to her is furious and will never refer anyone to her again. I was bribed, cajoled, and threatened aggressively in her office to walk away quietly. All I can do is tell the truth, and I gave Katherine and her team that at more. We are all just beside ourselves because of this, and I hope this prevents anyone else from experiencing the same thing. She is unethical and hiring her is a great risk.
