PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Jim is a Certified Public Accountant and Attorney with PWR, PLLC,  and in addition to his work as a tax attorney and business advisor has worked with Big Four firms in New Orleans and Washington, D.C.  While in Washington, D.C., Jim’s clients included a wide range of financial institutions, as well as other for-profit, non-profit and governmental entities for which he provided assistance in the fulfillment of their unique compliance responsibilities.  He also served as a non-profit resource person for his firm, led its wealth transfer planning practice, and worked extensively in merger and acquisition activities.  He has served in general counsel positions for both publicly held and private entities.  His current practice focuses on complex issues pertaining to real estate, domestic and international taxation of limited liability companies, partnerships and S corporations, merger and acquisition activities, and estate planning for high net-worth individuals,  drawing upon both his accounting and legal backgrounds, and he frequently presents at continuing education seminars.  Jim also has entrepreneurial experience from serving as CFO for a medical device manufacturer with international product distribution.  He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Arkansas and is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Tax Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western District courts in the State of Arkansas and the Supreme Court for the State of Arkansas.
