Betsy Marie Hickman

I hired Mrs Betsy Hickman to represent me on my divorce case and was referred to her by a good friend. I can say it was a big mistake. Mrs Hickman was rarely available to communicate with me in a highly contested situation and was definitely not prepared in a contempt hearing that I lost because sole...ly lack of communication between her and I. I began to demand answers from her and she would accuse me of her mistakes* and require me to communicate with her paralegals. When I finally told her I no longer needed her services It was then that proper communication with her was important to her. I now get frequent emails* from her office asking me to pay her what I owe her. Her retainer fee was 4500 and I made payments biweekly to her but at this point between the money and time I've lost from hiring her and the necessity of hiring another lawyer and also still being in a long and difficult situation, I feel like she should either call it even or even refund me all I already paid her. After finally hiring a good attorney I found out that Mrs hickman has only a little over 1 year of experience which would explain the lack of communication. I assume this lack of communication was attributed to her lack of experience and knowledge. This is not personal against Mrs Hickman she seems like a nice woman but this is business and when you pay for something you should get what you pay for.
