Not good under pressure

Initially, I was told that Kevin was just helping out with my case. He wasn’t even the attorney I retained. However, the attorney that I did retain ended up being double booked on our court date. Instead of consulting me, Kevin showed up. Kevin can write up a legal document and is knowledgeable of th...e law. However, from my experience, he doesn’t deal well under the pressure of the court room. To his defense, he was bullied in the court room by the other attorneys and the Judge. I watched my case crumble. I found myself in the court room begging and pleading with him to object or say something. He couldn’t. Because his lack of resiliency under pressure, child support was calculated using my wrong income, my ex income wasn’t 100% accounted for due to his lack of understanding when it comes to self-employed individuals, and I had to pay a $500 fine because he didn’t redact communication on evidence (My ex and I both had been told to communicate in a respectful manor. The evidence was from before that warning.). On top of it, my ex’s attorneys wrote up the child support section. Per the child support office, I didn’t get credit for my expenses I am court ordered to pay written into the new order. This prevented me from being able to use the child support office services. The child support office stated if they calculated it how it was written, I would be getting less that was was awarded. The owner of the law firm stated my case was one of the most expensive invoices she had ever had. This was the quality of work I received in return. She did give me $1200 off my bill. Now, I have had to retain another attorney to fix this mess. Because his inability to listen to his client and consult his senior partners, my children were impacted. I think it is important that attorneys realize they have an impact on the family’s quality of life after the case is over. We aren’t just a case. If you have a complex case, I suggest someone different. If your case is straight forward or you are facing a dead beat parent, I have confidence he could handle that. Please note that I have waited over a year to provide feedback to help ensure I could give it in a rational manner.

Greatly appreciated

I contacted Riggan law offices for consultation for a custody and guardianship issue for my son. Kevin was the lawyer that took on my case. He was thorough in explaining to me custody law in Arkansas as well as what we needed to do to take care of the temporary guardianship of my son that was given ...without my knowledge or consent and get custody rights established. Despite COVID slowing down the case and me being 15 hours away in Virginia he got the guardianship removed and then a month ago got me full custody of my son. It was along road but Kevin did a great job for me and my son. Thank you again Kevin Archer and Riggan law offices for everything you did including working with me on a payment plan. God bless
