I contacted this attorney after being referred by another attorney in Magnolia regarding a mineral rights/title matter in Columbia County. From the moment I mentioned the other attorney’s name, the conversation became noticeably brief and dismissive. She advised that she was not interested in the mat...ter, which I accepted. Because I live several hours away, I called back with a do you mind if you ask a question hoping to ask a quick follow-up question regarding a possible referral to another attorney who handles this type of work. Before I could explain the purpose of my call, I was told, “I do mind, thank you,” and the call was ended. I fully understand that any attorney has the right to decline representation. My disappointment is not that the case was declined, but that I was not allowed to ask a simple question and was treated in a manner I found discourteous and unprofessional. A brief explanation or referral would have been appreciated.
