John Andrew Durrett

John Andrew ("Andy") Durrett's practice focuses on business, estate planning (wills, trusts, etc.), probate, property rights and minerals.

In 1999, Andy received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana Tech University, with a major in Political Science and minor in English. Andy is proud to be an alumnus of Kappa Alpha Order’s Gamma Alpha Chapter at Louisiana Tech. In 2002, he received his law degree from Louisiana State University. He was admitted to practice law in Louisiana in 2002 and is a Louisiana State Notary. 

In addition to the state courts of Louisiana, Andy is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and United States District Court for the Western, Eastern and Middle Districts of Louisiana. He is a member of the Louisiana State and Federal Bar Associations, the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel and the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association.

Andy and his wife, Kathy, have one son, Davis Gray. Andy and Kathy are originally native to Lincoln Parish. Andy and Kathy both graduated from Cedar Creek School in Ruston, Louisiana. Like Andy, Kathy is also a Louisiana Tech University graduate.

Andy was recognized in 2011 and 2012 by his peers as one of Shreveport's best lawyers in SB Magazine. Andy has also been awarded a BV Distinguished rating by the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review process.

Andy was selected as a participant in the 2012 Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program. Andy's charitable involvement includes the March of Dimes. As the March of Dimes Ambassador Family for Northwest Louisiana, Andy’s family was the top fund raising family for Louisiana in 2012 and served as Chairman for North Central Louisiana's March of Dimes in 2014-2015. Andy’s other hobbies and interests include spending time with Kathy and Davis, mountain biking, hunting, fishing, Louisiana Tech and LSU sports.
