Known & Trusted

She won me custody of my son and got permission from the Court for me to relocate out of state. I was satisfied with the timeframe and price. She was also very nice.

Absolutely no communication don't waste your time.

I hired Mrs. Gregory to handle a succession. Mrs. Gregory charged me $150.00 for a consultation which wasn't bad. She charged me another $100.00, to go buy and take a picture of the house, and then another $130.00 to write and send a letter to the occupant in my Mother's house. I am fine with all of ...this. She asked me if I wanted to get the documents myself to save money. I did so as I wanted copies for myself of the documents needed. I then paid Mrs. Gregory $1,500.00 for a retainer, and she stated that it would take about two weeks or so to do the succession. All of that was great. Mrs. Gregory then texted me and asked me if I had anyone in the area that could give her an affidavit showing I was the only child. I told her my Aunt lives in Bastrop and I have a cousin in West Monroe. I asked her what she needed me to do, I never got a response. The next day I sent her another message asking if she needed me to contact them. She responded with yes let them know. Lol know what exactly I don't know. later that day I sent her my aunts number so she could reach her. She sent me a message saying I thought you were going to talk to her. She also asked me if I wanted to get an appraiser. I am in West Texas I have no idea who appraisers are in Monroe Louisiana. I asked her to find one and then asked if I needed to pay for it. No response. So today I sent her a message telling her I did not know what she wanted me to do, I got her the documents she requested, I paid her retainer, I told her I was more than willing to do what ever she needed me to do, but I needed her to tell me in detail what she wanted, and that communicating with me would be necessary. Mrs Gregory responded and I quote I don't need you to do anything but be patient and let me do the work. I am not asking for more money. I am asking if you want to save money. If I were greedy I wouldn't be asking. Not one time did I say she was greedy. I actually thought her prices were quite reasonable. I am also not impatient, I was just trying to clarify what it was she wanted me to do. So my response was either to the work I hired you to do or refund me my retainer it was up to her. Mrs. Gregory elected to refund my money then blocked me. In closing. You will get very little communication with this attorney, and when you do it will be by text message. She obviously doesn't communicate well with others as seen by a couple of reviews. At the first glance of a verbal confrontation with a client she quits. I would find an Attorney that understands when someone pays you to do a job, they deserve the common courtesy of an explanation of what is going on.

Poor Communication And Overall Not What I Expected

After reading all of Ms. Gregory's positive reviews I was hopeful that she could and would help me with some legal matters from years ago when I lived in Bastrop. I work during her office hours so I reached out to her via the form on her website after hours explaining a little about my situation and ...asking if she would be able to assist me. I never received a response. About two weeks later I decided to try and reach her office by text message. I asked if they had received the message I submitted via the website but the person who responded never answered that question. Instead they treated me as though my text message was the first time I ever contacted them and proceeded to ask if I wanted to schedule a consultation for $100. I was a little put off by the way in which the interaction was going but still I wanted to move forward. However, since I live out of state and thus couldn't take the meeting in person at her office they said they could not help me. In 2019 I find that pretty odd. I mean I would have been willing to do a video chat if needed. Her office made no attempt to accommodate my situation and that was very disappointing. Though I do understand that there is probably a good reason why they require clients to meet in person. My problem with how this was handled is that they simply ignored my original attempt to contact them instead of responding to me to explain that they couldn't help me unless I was there in person. I don't think its too much to ask of a professional law firm to respond to potential clients when they reach out to you.

Hi Dustin, I apologize no one reached out to you after you submitted your contact information on our website. I did confirm that it was submitted and received. I'm also sorry I'm just now seeing this review. Unfortunately, reviews from Avvo are not emailed to me and I do not manually check them regularly. After the pandemic, we did change our office policy to allow for phone consultations, but as you mentioned, we do usually require an in-person meeting for a variety of important reasons and considerations. I noticed your website notation inquired about fees and your review complains about the response relating to fees. We may have dropped the ball on reaching out to your website request for information and for that I am sorry. We hope you have resolved your legal issues. We wish you the best. We value your feedback and will strive to improve.
