Mr. Waitz and his office aggressively solicited my business saying they found out via a bank mortgage officer that I needed an attorney for closing a new home purchase. He described his fees which increased substantially as the closing date approached. On the day of closing, he kept increasing his fe...es and changed the HUD statement 4 times and his last update of fees was received an hour before the meeting for closing the purchase, thus creating a rushed situation for me with regard to getting a bank check. I found him to be disrespectful and disorganized. He failed to explain when I did not understand some fees. He did not answer basic questions that I had about real estate purchase in Louisiana. I asked him whether I would receive a Deed and he ignored. I pointed out a mistake that led to reduction in the final amount for the seller. Despite aggressive marketing by him and his office to sell Owner's Title insurance, I chose to buy only Lender's Title Insurance. I paid over $1500 for which I received no receipt or a description of the coverage. Following closing, I forwarded to his office annual property tax and home owners insurance notifications asking his office to let me know whether they sent the payments they collected at the time of closing. He or his office never replied.
