Fair, honest, overall fantastic attorney

If you need an attorney, consider yourself lucky that you are reading this. I had a case of QDRO related to a divorce agreement. We had a house on both names that I wanted to keep after divorce. Paid my ex wife cash for her share of the house, but she wanted me to do the QDRO on her behalf (while ...it was her responsibility to do it), or else, she would not sign the title transfer for the house. I thought, I could do the QDRO, no need for attorney. I wrote it up, submitted for judge's approval. It was returned with a note that said "this form is incorrect!". Since the note didn't say why it was "incorrect," I started looking for an attorney who could do it properly. After that, I spent 7 years hiring and firing numerous attorneys. The pattern was same for each attorney: They would take the retainer fee, anywhere from $2000 to $5000, sit on it and do nothing. When I wanted to see what the attorney was doing, I would call his/her office, but they would not come to the phone. I had to make appointment and pay 1-2 hours of consultation fee just to ask what they were doing. Each time I visited them, they would make excuses, and ask for additional questions so that I spend as long time as possible in their office. In one case, the attorney even billed me 1 hour for the time she spent asking her boss whether or not she was allowed to take my case. In the end, I would fire that attorney in frustration and find a new one. It did not help to tell these attorneys that I needed the case closed ASAP, because with the new lower interest rates, I wanted to refinance the house which would reduce my monthly mortgage bills by about $800. I needed the house title on my name before I could refinance. They didn't care that each passing month cost me $800 extra interest payment. Finally, I found this web site and I read the comments other people left about Afif. When I hired Afif, he finished the case very quickly, tying up all the lose ends in my divorce case. He told me that the only thing that was "incorrect" about the QDRO I originally wrote was, I had not written the dates of marriage and divorce. He added one paragpraph to my original QDRO and filed it, got the result the same day. He did not even charge me extra for this work. There are two kinds of attorneys in this world: bad guys who are worse than thiefs and crooks, and there is Afif. Judging by my personal experience, less than 1 out of 10 attorneys are decent, and Afif is one of them. Afif is not only decent, he is extremely competent.
