James Harvey Domengeaux

Lafayette native, Jimmy followed in his late uncle’s footsteps in the firm. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Louisiana State University in 1986. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the field of personal injury litigation, a publication described as the “most respected referral list of attorneys in practice”.

He has also been awarded the distinction of “Louisiana Super Lawyers” and “Top Attorneys in Louisiana.” Jimmy received an AV rating from Lexis Nexis Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review (Highest Rating in Legal Ability and Ethical Standards).

Jimmy is admitted to practice in all federal and state courts in Louisiana, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States Court of Federal Claims in Washington, DC, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is also admitted to practice in Texas.

Mr. Domengeaux is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Council for the Development of French in Louisiana and currently serves as Treasurer of the Francophone section of the Louisiana State Bar Association. He is a former board member of the Lafayette Parish Bar Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

He has also served on the Board of Governors of the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association. He recently received the 2018 John Hernandez, III award from the Francophone Section of the Louisiana Bar Association.
