Douglas graduated Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration: Pre‑Law from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. While at Nicholls State University, he served as the Chief Justice of the Student Supreme Court, served on the University Discipline Committee, and the University Student Advisory Board.

Douglas graduated from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with a Juris Doctor Degree and a Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law. In the same year, he also graduated from the Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. While in law school, Douglas clerked at the Louisiana Court of Appeals, First Circuit, and worked as a law clerk for two locals firms. After law school, Douglas worked for a small law firm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he practiced Commercial & Business Litigation, Construction Law, Taxation Law, Estate Planning, and Successions and Donations.

In 2015, Douglas moved back to Thibodaux to raise his family in the town that he loved so much growing up. Douglas is married to his best friend, Lindsey, and has two wonderful children, William and Ella.
