Channing Nicole Gaither

Nicole Gaither is a Partner with Parlatore Law Group and practices in the fields of copyright and trademark prosecution, in addition to tax law. She has demonstrated experience in prosecuting domestic trademark and copyright applications, providing brand protection through trademark monitoring, reviews of refusals, responses to refusals and assessing potential marks for use and availability.

From the courtroom, to trainings and seminars, Ms. Gaither is ready and equipped to handle all your startup business needs. She has helped numerous businesses protect their trademarks from unauthorized use. She counsels clients on all aspects of domestic and global trademark matters, including on the selection and clearance of marks, clearance and prosecution, brand management, and enforcement in the U.S. and abroad. To complement her trademark practice, Ms. Gaither also advises clients on the protection, registration, and enforcement of copyright assets. She has experience creating intellectual property-focused educational materials for new online entrepreneurs, in addition to preparing and conducting presentations, and trainings regarding the importance of utilizing intellectual property protections.

Ms. Gaither’s experiences prior to joining Parlatore Law Group were heavily rooted in the areas of tax law, in addition to family and consumer law, and federal employment discrimination. Additionally, she’s admitted in US Tax Court, and has several years of experience counseling clients on numerous issues including­ avoiding tax liabilities and penalties. Notably, she is also a Certified Public Accountant and has facilitated resolutions with the IRS on behalf of individuals, and worked to release levies, stay collection enforcement and abate penalties. Ms. Gaither has a wealth of experience representing the interests of her clients as they work to build and financially protect their businesses. She can assist in creating a unique trademark that meets the requirements to be registrable, advise on how to establish its use in commerce, and facilitate the registration process. She can also help protect trademarks from unauthorized use by contacting infringers and initiating litigation, if necessary.

Ms. Gaither is an active member of the American Bar Association’s Section of Intellectual Property law, the Association of Intellectual Property Firms, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce. She is also a presenter on intellectual property protections and issues for Fund 17, a nonprofit organization that works to empower and educate New Orleans entrepreneurs. She is a native New Orleanian and a dedicated member of the New Orleans community.

She is admitted to practice in Louisiana.
