Jon Von Steele

Jon V. Steele is proud to be a public servant. After 20 years with the New Orleans Police Department, he retired after sustaining a work-related injury. He then entered Loyola University’s College of Law where during his final year he was a Law Clerk for the Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office. After graduation, he assisted a young attorney in establishing a family law practice where he handled nearly all of the firm's protective orders, civil injunctions, and adversarial child custody cases. Jon is now building his own family law practice and is also expanding into criminal defense to help you or your loved one navigate the maze of the criminal judicial system.

Like a lot of young men of blue-collar families, Jon started out working off shore in the oil industry. He transitioned in to construction and became a pipefitter with Brown & Root's Petro-Chemical Division. In 1985 he started his law enforcement career with the Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff's Office and in 1987, he joined theNew Orleans Police Department. As a New Orleans Police Officer, Jon was a Narcotics Detective, Field Training Officer, Recruiting Investigator, and Expert Finger Print Examine.
