Our mission is to provide professional, ethical and high quality mediation, negotiation and litigation services in the Greater New Orleans Metropolitan Area at an efficient and cost-effective manner through knowledge, expertise, technology and outstanding client service.

For nearly 25 years, Shawon has worked as an educator and school leader. Today, she is a solo practitioner and owner of Bernard Law Firm LLC. She focuses her legal practice on Family and Education law.  She is qualified as a Child Custody and Visitation Mediator, Family and Civil Mediator. She is also a qualified Children’s Attorney.

Shawon graduated from the University of New Orleans in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and a Master of Education degree in Education Leadership in 2003. She attended Southern University at New Orleans and completed her Post-Baccalaureate in Mathematics Education, 1996. She graduated from Southern University at New Orleans with a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems, 2001. Shawon received her Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center in 2013. She was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 2014. She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.
