Andrew Maberry is a Louisiana native, having been born and raised in Shreveport. After high school he moved to Baton Rouge and attended Louisiana State University, where he graduated with a degree in communication studies in 2012. After graduation, he started his professional career in property management working in student housing.
In 2014, Mr. Maberry moved to New Orleans and began pursuing a career in law. He briefly worked as a legal assistant until he realized his utlimate goal was to become an attorney. Within a year he was accepted into Loyola University New Orleans, College of Law. While in law school, Mr. Maberry strived to use his education to help others, clerking for legal aid offices through the Gillis Long Summer Internship Program. In his third year of law school, Mr. Maberry worked all year as a student practitioner in the Loyola Law Clinic. He eventually graduated from law school in May of 2019, with a certificate in Social Justice, and was chosen as the Social Justice Fellow for Loyola Law School. After passing the bar exam in July 2019, Mr. Maberry would later get licensed in October of 2019 and began working as a staff attorney at Southeast Louisiana Legal Services. Here, Mr. Maberry defended low income renters in eviction court throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and helped bring awareness to the ongoing housing crisis in America.
Mr. Maberry is licensed to practice in all Louisiana courts, and is admitted to practice federal law in the Eastern District of Louisiana, the Western District of Louisiana, and the Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. Mr. Maberry and his husband live in Metairie with their two dogs. In his spare time you will find Mr. Maberry dancing at concerts and music festivals. He also enjoys attending Broadway shows at the Saenger Theatre. When he is not doing any of those things, you will certainly find Mr. Maberry in his kitchen cooking.
