ALS - a rare disease needs an exception lawyer
I was recently diagnosed with ALS. No medical treatment is available so the only first step was filing with Social Security to get disability income started asap. Being a lawyer once, I prepared the application myself. To my shock my claim was denied. The impact of this was far greater than my dying. Then I found Mary Kay Hansen. Her specialty is Social Security and her knowledge and experience is unparalleled in Nebraska. While very professional she still brings true empathy to her cases. She really knew how devastated facing this life destroying disease and the denial of disability was to my wife and me. She helped us in finding hope. She took the case and with her expertise it was only weeks before I was approved and receiving disability. Before she got involved we were only thinking how we could we ever get through this. Mary Kay Hansen has now enabled us to focus on how we can maximize our limited time together. She didn’t give us more years, but she gave us a chance of happiness in these years. She was truly a blessing.

Family law and mediation
I have worked with Mary Kay since 2004, and she has been not only supportive but subjective....she kept everones best interest in mind. Being a divorced father of three, I feel that my children and myself have prevailed amoung the most hostile circumstances that can exist. Recently, have used her services again for a modification event. It has been nearly an 8 year relationship I have had with Mary Kay, let that be my best testimonial. To all those fathers out there that feel you are not getting what the law says you should, find solice here with Mary Kay....thank you!!!

Family Law
Mary Kay is the most knowledgeable and caring legal professional with whom I can imagine having worked. She candidly and compassionately helped me navigate the challenging process of divorce. I felt partnered more than directed though she remained solidly on top of all the details. We established settlement goals and met them all. I recommend her without reservation.

Mediation Attorney | Aug 09
Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter
"Mary Kay Hansen is the "go-to" mediator for my office, as well as a lot of other law offices in the Lincoln area. She is thorough, trustworthy and professional. When dealing with Mary Kay in an adversarial basis in contested cases, the experience has always been rewarding and positive. As an attorney, she zealously and aggressively represents her client's interests, while never getting bogged down in the minutiae that inevitably accompanies these emotionally-charged cases. I strongly recommend Mary Kay as a mediator and as an attorney."
