Megan Elizabeth McDowell

Megan assisted me with a dispute I was involved in and only did I obtain a favorable outcome, but for such a frustrating situation to be involved in, the process overall was not unduly burdensome or super stressful – and that is all thanks to Megan. First, Megan was super responsive; when I would ask... her a question, if she was unable to provide me with advice within the next couple days, she would always respond and let me know she received my question and when I could expect to hear back from her, which is a rare quality in today’s legal community – in my past experience all too often would I go more than a week without any response from my attorney, and/or I have to send several follow-up emails before I would hear anything back from them, which makes an already stressful situation even more unpleasant. Another thing about Megan’s representation of me that was unique compared to my past attorneys is that as our case progressed I came to trust her completely – this was largely due to the fact that Megan would level with me and would explain to me which of my goals and expectations were realistic, and which were not so much. During these tough conversations, Megan was very open and honest with me – so while some of this news was hard to hear, I appreciated her honesty and her expertise and these discussions inevitably lead me in the direction to a successful outcome. A third point I would like to make about Megan is that, although there were options I had that Megan made clear would be an uphill battle, Megan still completely left the direction of the case in my discretion. Also, even though some of the options available to me had a low likelihood of a favorable outcome for me, Megan made me feel like regardless of which option I chose, that she would continue to assist me and would continue to put in the energy and effort as she had thus far. This was the thing that stuck out to me the most about Megan – In the past, I have had attorneys present me with options and they would make me feel like if I didn’t go with the one route they suggested, that I would be making a “dumb” decision, or that they would not really be in my corner anymore.
