On farms, “fair” isn’t always “equal”—and when lawyers miss that, families fracture and ground gets sold. I grew up working full-time on my family’s crop farm, later flew as an aerial applicator, and after an engine-failure crash in 2018, I chose law to protect the people and work I love. I founded Midwest Ag Law to make planning fit farm reality: flat fees (no hourly surprises), meetings in the shop or tractor cab, and operator-first plans that keep acres producing while treating off-farm heirs fairly. That means trusts that rent land back to the operator with buy options, equalization with life insurance or off-farm assets (not forced sales), tight title and beneficiary alignment, lender/CPA coordination, and hands-on funding so the plan actually works. I’m licensed in Nebraska and Minnesota. Result: the ground stays in the family, seasons stay on schedule, and everyone knows where they stand.
