Shane R. Thielen

Working with Shane Thielen makes me feel like I have stepped back in time - in a good way. Back when lawyers were of counsel and got to know their clients by building a long term relationship rather than the unfortunate norm of the solely transactional short game we see today. He's very timely to re...spond, provides sound advice that takes into account the bigger picture of where our company is going, and is respectful of our budget each month since we are bootstrapping ourselves. Also, Shane has the best kind of super intelligence. He has the very rare ability to translate high level concepts for the lay person to understand in a manner that is in no way condescending. Even more rare, in any field let alone the legal field, is his honesty, drive to produce results, and work ethic. I have extremely high expectations of any vendor we hire for our company, and Shane has exceeded my expectations, which is no simple feat. Shane is amazing and I would have no reservations recommending him to anyone that needs an attorney for IP, Copyright application or Copyright infringement.

Shane does much of the patent work for our company. He is certainly knowledgeable about patent law and I depend on him and others at his firm to keep us pointed in the right direction when making decisions regarding our intellectual property. Shane and his colleagues provide me with a weekly repo...rt on patent activity from competitors to our business. This information has proven valuable many times, and we are able react to this activity if necessary far sooner than we could have had the weekly searches not taken place. Shane has the ability to take what I would consider complex ideas and subject matter of our business, and put them into patent language for applications without significant input from my engineering staff. He works well with the patent examiners who review applications in our field and has been effective in convincing those examiners we do have patentable subject matter in our applications.
