Earlier in his career, Mr. Svoboda represented Ford Motor Company in a case titled Dobrovolny v. Ford, which solidified the Economic Loss Doctrine in Nebraska. The Economic Loss Doctrine provides that when a manufactured product self destructs and the warranty period is over, the owner cannot recover in tort for the value of the product - there must be some other property damage or personal injury along with the loss of the product.
