John Michael Martin

Mr. Martin is completely awesome! He doesn't try to act like some big shot attorney or arrogant in any way. He helped save me from getting 15 years in prison for possessing stolen property (which I didn't know was stolen) and he told me he would take the case for me due to his own past experiences of... seeing other victims lives being ruined by the justice system and how he had personally lost well in excess over $500,000 of his own personal money due to legal fees based on personal issues/ false accusations and such and understood how public defenders have so many cases to handle that they won't be able to research the facts and discovery and be capable of putting up a strong defense when my public defender just wanted me to plead guilty. He then wrote up some legal brief and presented it to the judge and had my case dismissed by the prosecutor's office, district attorney, and the judge showing that I had no knowledge that this property was stolen. I didn't even have to go to court! He is the most sympathetic and honest attorney I have ever worked with. Unfortunately most attorneys are all about greed and getting money by using intimidation, etc. You rarely find any lawyers today that are as compassionate as Mr. Martin… Most attorneys are entirely based on greed and getting as much money as they can from you and attempt to intimidate you into paying their BS legal fees they supposedly "rack up" and then threaten to sue you if you don't pay them some outrageous fees after they didn't even do any work on the case. With Attorney Martin, money is not what he focuses on. He cares about making certain people are not wrongfully convicted and have a big F (felony) on their back which basically ruins any client’s future hope of getting a job or succeeding in life after they are out of prison due to their criminal past. Mr. Martin is one of the most honorable individual I have ever met in my entire life. He’s the best. Unfortunately he is now retired, but if you would have had a chance to use him as your attorney I guarantee you would not have been disappointed. You are a true legend and genius!

All I want to say is without knowing John "Mike" Martin I would have not had the wherewithal to defend my case since I didn't know any other lawyers than him through a mutual friend. He was very honest, to the point, direct, and told me what my options could potentially be. With that said, he had my ...DWI case please down to reckless driving at a much generous rate than what other lawyers I would call in the phone books and ask for $5,000.00 or something. He is an excellent attorney and family man. Very smart and knowledgeable about the law. I definitely would advise him to anyone else having any various issues or legal troubles.

All I have to say about Attorney J. Michael Martin (better known as Mike) is that is he is absolutely the most respectful, generous, and ethical lawyers in the legal business. His integrity and his ethics are unmatched, which is difficult to say about most practicing lawyers in the business today. He... currently is not residing in Arkansas where he was formerly a Deputy Prosecutor in Little Rock's Pulaski County, then declined the opportunity as an Assistant D.A in Pulaski County. After this he moved from Little Rock, Arkansas to Omaha, Nebraska to work for The Union Pacific Railroad due to the incentive of a higher salary and worked as their in house counsel, and still has a residence there in Omaha. That is what I know of him after recently speaking with him and have known him dating back to our college years. I knew he would be perfect since he also holds an accounting degree with honors (either Cum Laude or Magna Cum Laude, I don’t recall to be certain.) from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. This is the same university where he graduated in the same class with Governor and Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee. Well enough about Mike’s outstanding credentials, I needed his help. Mike informed me (he was not very healthy and under severe stress due to a private manner I will not disclose publicly.) but as a courtesy to me, and our friendship, he would make an effort and requested that I mail him as many documents, whether I thought they were relevant or not. I did, including phone records to him via FedEx. I sent all of the paper work to him where he informed me that he had caught a flaw in the collection process and would write up a debt collection removal letter to send to the debt collector to stop harassing me and threatening me due to a very expensive $5,900 hospital bill my son had that went into collections. Mike then told me to buy a phone recorder and record every threatening word this debt collector said to me. Then after this, he would also assist me in filing an Arkansas Protection Order properly, and submit it with the recorded phone messages, as well as the number of times on my phone record it will show this debt collector called me, which is illegal and harassment. He also wrote extremely fine and professional letters and mailed them to the hospital, the 3 major credit bureaus where he was able to have the collection removed due to a technicality after doing some serious investigating and checking that the debt had not been transferred to the collection agency properly and legally notarized, witnessed, and the dates, and signatures did not match up correctly! This took a tremendous weight off of my shoulders, and improved my credit score 93 points! As well as allowed me to not stress about gathering the money I owed the hospital. Now, not only because Mike is a close friend of mine, and was during college, he is the most decent, respectful, and helpful individual I have ever met in my entire life (of anyone at all, not just lawyers.) I offered Mike an undisclosed amount of money for his work that he stated took him about 9 hours to complete, and he would not accept my money, despite the fact he had worked his tail off utilizing his accounting and lawyer skills. He just told me to promise him if anything ever happened to him that I could help with, he would let me know, and went on to say “this is what loyalty and friendship is all about, not trying to make an extra buck from someones mishaps and misfortunes.” Mike, also known on here as J. Michael Martin but goes by his middle name Mike, will go out of his way just to help others. I hope the best for his health and hope he gets to feeling better. Mike if you ever read this, I am glad I have your cell phone number and that we were able to talk for so long on the phone and catch up on things and our current lifestyles, and I am so sorry to hear about your recent loss. ATTORNEY J. MICHAEL MARTIN IS AMAZING! WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE HOW MUCH HE HELPED ME WITH MY CASE. HE ALLOWED ME TO EARN ADDITIONAL MONEY AND FEES THAT I HAD ORIGINALLY NOT EVEN THOUGHT OF! HE IS TRULY AN EXCELLENT ATTORNEY AND I WISH I COULD USE HIM FOR ANYTHING I NEEDED ALTHOUGH HE IS NOT PRACTICING ...MUCH ANYMORE DUE TO HIS HEALTH, BUT MY FRIEND THAT KNOWS HIM EXPLAINED THE DETAILS OF THE CASE TO HIM AND HE WAS VERY ANGRY WITH HOW A RENTER COULD ACT LIKE A CONTRACT NEVER EXISTED AND TEAR MY RENTAL HOUSE UP SO BAD BY TAKING ADVANTAGE OF AN OLDER WOMAN. I WAS LUCKILY ABLE TO OBTAIN HIS NUMBER BUT HAD TO GIVE MY PHONE NUMBER FIRST TO HIM SO HE WOULD KNOW WHO WAS CALLING (MY GOODNESS IS IT HARD TO REACH HIM) I CALLED HIM AND HE TOLD ME HE WAS BUSY AND WOULD GET BACK TO ME LATER. LATER THAT DAY HE TOLD ME TO PROVIDE HIM WITH THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT, ANY STATEMENTS THE PEOPLE RENTING THE CONTRACT SAID OR PAID, OR ANY ACTIONS THEY TOOK. I TOLD HIM I WASN’T SURE IF I HAD THE CASHED CHECKS THAT THEY PAID WITH, AND HE TOLD ME TO LISTEN AND GET THEM TO HIM OR FIND ANOTHER LAWYER.VERY INTIMIDATING. I DID WHAT HE SAID, AND I HAD 3 OF THE CHECKS THE RENTER HAD PAID ME FROM THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A FULL 12 MONTHS. HE ASKED IF I KNEW WHERE THE GUY WORKED AND I SAID YES. J. MICHAEL THEN ASKED ME FOR SOME PICTURES OF MY RENTAL HOUSE ADVERTISEMENT, SPECIFICALLY THE INTERIOR. I GAVE THEM TO HIM, HE THEN ASKED FOR MY KEYS AND SAID I COULD HAVE THEM IN A WEEK. I WAS WONDERING WHAT HE NEEDED MY KEYS FOR AND WHY SO LONG? I LEARNED IT WAS SO HE COULD HAVE PICTURES OF THE DAMAGES TAKEN INSIDE OF THE HOUSE AS WELL AS A CRACKED WINDOW. WELL THE RENTER THOUGHT HE COULD NOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR HIS ACTIONS. HE DESTROYED MY HOUSE, AND EVEN THOUGHT HE COULD OUTSMART AN EXCELLENT ATTORNEY NAMED J. MICHAEL MARTIN AND HE WAS IN FOR A HUGE WAKE UP CALL. J. MICHAEL MADE THIS IMMATURE “TOUGH GUY” LOOK AND PROVE TO THE JUDGE THAT THIS KID HAD A HORRIBLE ATTITUDE, CAUGHT HIM IN 4 DIFFERENT LIES, AND NEEDED TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS ACTIONS DURING THE COURT TRIAL AND EVEN AFTER, GETTING ME NEARLY $14,000 WHEN I EXPECTED MAYBE $7,500 AT THE MOST. HE IS SO ETHICAL, NICE, FRIENDLY, AND IS NOT THE TYPICAL LAWYER WHO WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING TO GET YOUR MONEY AND THEN LEAVE YOU HANGING OUT IN THE COLD. HE EXPLAINS EVERY POSSIBLE SCENARIO, GOOD AND BAD. AND EVEN THOUGH HES SUPER FRIENDLY TO HIS CLIENTS, HE KNOWS HOW TO GET HIS POINT ACROSS AND IS VERY INTIMIDATING WHEN HE NEEDS TO BE, ESPECIALLY IN COURT WHILE ASKING PEOPLE ASKING QUESTIONS. I AM THANKFUL I DID NOT HAVE TO GO AGAINST HIM! HE IS VERY SKILLED SINCE HE HAS DONE THIS FOR 30+ YEARS. I WISH HE WAS STILL HEALTHY AND HOPE HE STAYS WELL!

AFTER I WAS INFORMED THAT THE STATE TRIED TO CLAIM ALL OF MY UNCLES POSSESSIONS BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT IN A LIVING WILL OR TRUST. THE STATE THEN TRIED TO FORCE ME INTO UNREASONABLE AND COSTLY TAXES IN ORDER FOR ME TO HAVE FULL POSESSION AND OWNERSHIP OF THESE. MR. MARTIN EXPLAINED ALL OF THIS LEGAL TE...RMINOLOGY TO ME IN AN EASY AND UNDERSTANDABLE MANNER AND STATED THAT WE NEEDED TO PREVENT THIS FROM GOING INTO PROBATE. HE WAS EXTREMELY POLITE AND SINCERE TO ME. I HAVE HEARD FROM OTHER CLIENTS THAT HE TREATS THEM AS IF THEY ARE FAMILY. (FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD HE HAS BEEN HAVING HEALTH PROBLEMS, AND IS NO LONGER PRACTICING MUCH OR GIVING OUT HIS CONTACT INFORMATION UNLESS YOU PERSONALLY KNOW HIM.) HE DID AN EXCELLENT JOB WINNING MY CASE AND IS NOT THE TYPICAL LAWYER THAT TAKES ANY TYPE OF CASE THAT THEY HAVE NO SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE OF IN ORDER TO GET YOUR MONEY. HE DOES NOT CHARGE OUTRAGEOUS FEES, NOR DOES HE TAKE CASES THAT HE DOES NOT HAVE PRIOR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT. I WOULD CHOOSE HIM AGAIN WITHOUT A DOUBT. 5 STARS!
