Michael F. Pistillo

Michael Pistillo, an Omaha native, has established himself as a dedicated and experienced attorney with deep connections to Omaha's business and legal community. Mike pursued his academic journey at Creighton University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts, followed by a Master's degree at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He later returned to Creighton for his Juris Doctorate from Creighton Law School.

Starting his career in a small firm, Mike soon transitioned to a larger Omaha law firm in the mid-1980s, where he supervised the litigation department. During this period, he represented diverse clients, including banks and financial institutions, and developed extensive litigation experience across various legal areas.

Mike’s primary focus today lies in family law, including divorce, legal separation, annulment, custody, child support, and abuse cases. While well-versed in father’s rights, Mike’s approach is that "every parent has rights." Notably, he brought the first case under Nebraska's Grandparent’s Visitation Statute, leading to a Nebraska Supreme Court decision that upheld the constitutionality of grandparent visitation rights. Beyond initial cases, he is also skilled in post-decree modifications of custody and child support, as well as adoption, paternity, premarital agreements, and name changes.

In addition to family law, Mike offers services in business law, handling matters like business formation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, shareholder rights, secured transactions, and related litigation. He is also adept in estate planning and probate, managing formal and informal probate matters, including litigated estates, and preparing trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and living wills.

Mike also has a breadth of experience in commercial and residential landlord/tenant issues, representing numerous residential landlords and providing expertise in commercial leases. He has represented construction companies, builders, and consumers on home improvement and repair matters.
