Karine Egbemimo Sokpoh

arine Sokpoh practices in the areas of immigration, family law, and intellectual property. Karine represents individuals and businesses in various immigration, family law and coprorate matters. She defends clients in immigration court and provides legal counsel in various immigration matters, including family and marriage based visas.

Karine also represents clients in various divorce, child custody , guardianship, and juvenile law matters.

Karine also counsels clients in acquiring, maintaining and protecting U.S. and foreign intellectual property assets.  She provides search opinions concerning availability and registration of trademarks and  asists with the filing and prosecuting trademark and copyright registration applications.  She also helps clients with monitoring trademark infringement use, and addressing actual or potential infringement cases through cease and desist letters and other dispute resolution strategies.

Karine assists clients concerning commercialization of their intellectual property assets by performing due diligence in pending acquisitions and in drafting and negotiating various transactional documents.  She also drafts terms of uses and privacy policies for client websites and other Internet privacy and cyber-liability legal compliance matters. Karine has experience drafting and negotiating licenses, assignments, sale and purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, supplier and distributor agreements.  She represents clients in UDRP or domain name disputes.

Karine works with clients on legal matters in the U.S., Canada, the European Union, China, India, Africa, and South America.  Karine is fluent in English, French and Mina. Karine started her legal career with the Koley Jessen firm in Omaha. She is active in the community and is the President of the Midlands Bar Association and the Vice President of African Love International.
