Dennis Gregory Whelan

Dennis G. Whelan joined Slowiaczek Albers & Whelan in 2017 and became a partner in January 2019. On July 1, 2023, he took over as managing partner of the firm. Dennis is renowned for his dedication to his client’s interests and his substantial contributions to the legal field. His legal focus revolves around guiding individuals through premarital agreements, divorce proceedings, matters involving complex financial considerations, custody disputes, and high-net worth divorces. Slowiaczek Albers & Whelan’s experience makes them the sought-after experts in Omaha when it comes to high-asset divorces.

In 2023, Dennis was admitted as a Fellow to the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML). The AAML is a national organization whose membership is limited to those few attorneys in each state who represent the highest standards of practice and reputation in the field of family law. Dennis is one of only 11 Nebraska attorneys admitted to this prestigious organization. Dennis’s membership in the AAML is a testament to the level of respect he enjoys among his peers and to the quality of work he provides for his clients.

Dennis, a lifelong resident of Omaha, graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2009. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Creighton University in 2012.

Outside of the office, you can find Dennis spending time with his lovely wife and their two boys.
