Katie Vogel’s commitment to both excellence and advocacy on behalf of Nebraska families is longstanding.
After growing up in Gretna, Katie’s academic career was filled with honors, starting with the University of Nebraska Honors Program. She studied English, biology, and psychology, graduating with honors. While at the University of Nebraska College of Law, Katie was a member of the Nebraska Law Review and the Order of the Coif national legal honor society. She was awarded the Burton Award for Legal Achievement for distinguished legal writing for her published work on the legal analysis of the rights of parents. Katie’s writing has been published in Nebraska Lawyer and Nebraska Law Review.
Katie graduated law school in 2008 with high distinction. She was a judicial clerk for the Justice William Connolly of the Nebraska Supreme Court before launching her career in private practice with a focus on serving families and businesses. In addition to her experience in divorce and family law, Katie has extensive expertise in estate and gift planning, probate and estates, and trust administration. She is also experienced in advising business clients on issues from operations to the division of business assets upon the dissolution of a business or relationship.
Katie is a committed listener for her clients and for causes. When you experience Katie’s calm presence, you know it comes from her knowledge, her experience, and her wholehearted commitment to excellence at every step of the process. Because she hears what matters most to you, Katie is a powerfully effective voice in the courtroom.
Katie is an active member of the Nebraska State Bar association, past chair of the Women and the Law section and now serving on the executive committee of the Real Estate, Tax, and Probate section. Katie is also admitted to the United States District Court and the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Katie’s concern for families is also reflected in her years of public service and community involvement. She has served as a member of the board of directors for Family Services, PAC2Daycare, and Capital Humane Society. She is a graduate of Leadership Lincoln and a former CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer on behalf of abused and neglected children.
