Do not hire

He is the most difficult person to get ahold of. I was on a strict deadline and spent days trying to get in touch with him. He barely returned phone calls, said he was going to file denials with the court, and then never followed up. I couldn’t afford to find another lawyer so I was/am stuck. At this... point, I don’t even know where my case stands or who to contact about it. I only had 30 days to respond to my summons and have yet to hear back from him.

Lazy and incompetent

Ryan Lewis is actually my ex’s attorney she used and I feel bad for her. Ryan is absolutely impossible to get ahold of. Was NOT prepared during trial and handed everything over to MY lawyer, who drafted everything at the end. After the last exchange him and my lawyer had, I heard him say “I just don’...t want to fight with her anymore.” Funds from the sale of our house were supposed to be released a week or two after court. My lawyer is STILL waiting on him to respond for missing info. I gave my ex my lawyers contact info and she sent her info directly to my lawyer. I’m grateful for the outcome, as he obviously lost. But if you want a fighting chance of getting treated fairly, look elsewhere. You’re better off going in without legal representation than hiring Ryan Lewis.

Be aware

Hired Ryan for a child custody case. He simply acted as an intermediary between my child's mother's attorney and I. The opposing attorney drafted all of the paperwork and sent to Ryan, who then forwarded it to me to review. Ryan did not even review the paperwork prior to sending it to me. He simply a...sked if it was okay with me. He was unable to advise as to the fairness of the proposed parenting plan drafted by the opposing attorney. Further, he is impossible to reach by phone after the initial consultation and does not return messages. After several attempts to reach Ryan by phone over the course of a month, he did not contact me until I contacted the company that made the referral to make a complaint. I do not recommend hiring Ryan to represent you.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
