Born in Omaha, Daniel J. Welch is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (B.S., 1993) and Creighton University School of Law (J.D., 1998). He was admitted to the Nebraska Bar in 1998 and is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska. He is a member of the Omaha Bar Association, the Nebraska State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
In 1994, Dan was a Senior Staff Member of the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. and worked as staff member for Jon Christensen. He was elected to the Omaha City Council District 5 seat in 2001 and was re-elected in 2005 and elected as President of the Council. In 2015, he was elected Chairman of the Nebraska Republican Party, a position he currently holds.
