Laura Shaker Dakhil Monahan

Laura Dakhil Monahan primarily represents individuals and businesses in the healthcare industry, serving both transactional and litigation needs for her clients. In doing so, she practices in the areas of business and corporate law, healthcare law, real estate law, and medical malpractice defense litigation. Laura, born and raised in Wichita, graduated with honors, receiving her B.S. in Journalism along with minors in French and Leadership Studies from the University of Kansas. During KU’s Homecoming celebration in 2003, Laura was one of five female students honored as an Ex.CEL Award (Excellence in Community Education and Leadership) finalist, even being featured in the Homecoming parade. During the University’s graduation ceremony, Laura was also honored as the recipient of the Caryl K. Smith Student Leader Chancellor Award. She then stayed in Lawrence to attend University of Kansas School of Law. While in law school, Laura served as the Student Direct for the Defender Project, a clinic which serves state and federal prisoners in appellate and post-conviction litigation. After receiving her law degree, Laura went on to earn an M.B.A. from Washburn University. She is thrilled to be back in her hometown serving the community.
