I feel truly blessed that my work builds families.  As an adoption attorney, I like to say that my role is just a small part of a big blessing.  To be the one who says the words to a couple that makes their eyes well with tears of joy, knowing that their life has forever changed, is a gift that humbles me.  (I usually end up in tears too.)

I represent both adoptive families and biological parents in private and agency adoptions.  I assist families to identify the right match.  My practice includes services that match prospective adoptive parents and biological parents during pregnancy.  I represent adoptive parents in a variety of other matters as well, including contested adoptions, foster care adoptions, step-parent adoptions, relative adoption, same sex and second parent adoptions.  I am well versed on the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) and Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA).  

My practice also includes assisted reproductive technology (ART) and surrogacy law.  I understand the complex legal issues that are associated with ART as well as the emotional decisions individuals and families face when considering their fertility options.  I represent clients in gestational and traditional surrogacy arrangements. I am proud to work with a diverse clientele, including traditional and non-traditional families, in order to fulfill their dreams of becoming parents. 

 My ultimate goal is positive permanency for children. Irepresent foster families and individuals in private Child in Need of Care (CINC) proceedings to foster the child's best interests.  Disagreements often arise regarding the decisions that are made on behalf of a child in CINC matters, and litigation may become necessary.
