Mackenzie Maki Baxter

Mackenzie M. Baxter is a partner at the firm, and an experienced litigator defending healthcare providers in civil litigation matters and administrative Board proceedings involving claims of malpractice, negligence, and professional misconduct. Through effective written and oral advocacy, she has successfully obtained dismissals and resolutions of complicated matters for her clients.

Mackenzie has briefed and argued challenging motions before the Kansas state courts, the United States District Court of Kansas, and the United States Court of Appeals - 10th Circuit Court.

She was recently named a 2024 Rising Star by SuperLawyers® in the field of Civil Litigation: Defense.

Mackenzie received her B.S., cum laude, in Biology, from Wichita State University, and her J.D., with honors, from Washburn University School of Law. While attending law school, Mackenzie was a member of the mock trial team that participated in the National American Association of Justice’s Trial Advocacy Competition. She also gained valuable experience as an intern at the Shawnee County District Attorney’s Office and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation’s Legal Department.

Mackenzie is more than just an attorney. In college, she competed in Division I cross-country and long-distance track for Arizona State University and Wichita State University. She also worked in a reproductive hormone lab.

Mackenzie and her husband, Brock, are the proud parents of two beautiful children. They enjoy supporting them at wrestling tournaments, on the ice rink, and at piano concert halls.
