Jonathan James De Jong

Prior to joining Hinkle Elkouri, Mr. de Jong served as Director of Transaction Services for Koch Industries, Inc., the nation’s largest privately held corporation, and played an integral role in Koch’s $4+ billion asset acquisition of DuPont’s international chemicals and fibers business (INVISTA) and its successful $21 billion all-cash tender offer for the stock of Georgia-Pacific Corporation. His extensive experience in acquisitions and divestitures, internal reorganizations, and the concerns of closely-held companies positions him uniquely to (a) assess business situations of all sizes, (b) identify and mitigate their tax and legal risks, and (c) capture their potential opportunities. No stranger to collaborating with in-house and outside counsel, Jon seamlessly augments a client’s strengths with his own skills to achieve the optimal business, legal, and tax result. At Hinkle Elkouri, Jon's practice focuses on tax planning, integrating emphases on corporate issues, mergers and acquisitions, family-owned businesses, and trusts and estates.

Jon teaches a variety of graduate-level tax courses as an adjunct professor in Wichita State University’s Accounting program.
